Improving Employment Opportunities by Recommending Student Careers Based on Employability Skills

The digital industry is one of the fields that is needed to modernize countries. Therefore, recent graduates in digital fields are crucial in shaping the future workforce. Unfortunately, many students need help identifying which digital careers suit their skills. This study aims to offer personalized career recommendations based on individual employability skills. The proposed technique, Modified Euclidean Distance (MED), has been employed to develop a career ranking model for personalized career recommendation, which recommends a suitable career path for each student. It compares their employability skills with those required for careers. This research can also identify gaps in students' employability skills. The evaluation indicated that the proposed MED technique has higher performance than others. This research also assessed the employment rates of graduates utilizing the proposed recommendation. The results indicated that those graduates achieved higher employment rates and salaries than others. This achievement is because personalized career advice helps them identify their interests and employability skills, significantly boosting their career success.
