Design of Multilayer Structure Microstrip Patch Antenna

A design scheme for a multilayer structure microstrip patch antenna operating at 5.8 GHz is proposed. The antenna consists of four radiating patches arranged in a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 2$</tex> array, with the power distribution feeding network embedded between two layers of dielectric material, thereby enhancing both the antenna performance and its concealment. The multilayer structure microstrip patch antenna exhibits a VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) of less than 2 over the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$5.3-6.1 \text{GHz}$</tex> frequency range, with a relative bandwidth of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{1 3. 8 \%}$</tex>. The antenna achieves a gain of 12.7 dB, an axial ratio of 1.29, indicating excellent circular polarization, and a radiation efficiency of up to 93.3 %, highlighting its strong potential for practical applications.
