Design of a Standing Posture Recognition System Based on STM32

With the growing social demand for elderly care services and athlete health monitoring, the design of a standing posture recognition system based on STM32 is of great significance. This study aims to achieve precise recognition and assessment of the standing posture of the elderly and athletes through advanced sensing technology and embedded systems, thereby providing them with more personalized health guidance and services. The elderly often experience problems such as unstable standing posture due to the decline in physical functions, while athletes also need to make precise adjustments to their standing posture during training to improve their performance. Therefore, developing a system that can monitor and recognize standing posture in real time is of great importance for improving the quality of life of the elderly, preventing the risk of falls, and optimizing the training effects of athletes. The system is centered on the STM32F1 microcontroller and integrates multiple sensor modules, including multiple film pressure sensors. By collecting and analyzing data on seven typical standing postures—standing with feet together, lightly standing on tiptoes, lightly touching the heels, standing at ease, standing with feet turned outward, standing with feet turned inward, and the moment of walking—it provides corresponding assessments and suggestions based on the standards of healthy standing posture. This study offers a convenient health monitoring tool for the elderly and athletes and provides strong technical support for elderly care services and athlete training.

Abstract

With the growing social demand for elderly care services and athlete health monitoring, the design of a standing posture recognition system based on STM32 is of great significance. This study aims to achieve precise recognition and assessment of the standing posture of the elderly and athletes through advanced sensing technology and embedded systems, thereby providing them with more personalized health guidance and services. The elderly often experience problems such as unstable standing posture due to the decline in physical functions, while athletes also need to make precise adjustments to their standing posture during training to improve their performance. This study offers a convenient health monitoring tool for the elderly and athletes and provides strong technical support for elderly care services and athlete training.
