Distributed Event-Triggered Voltage and Frequency Control for dVOC-Based Microgrids
The microgrid system composed of converterinterfaced distributed generators (DGs) like PV inverters lacks inertial support, which leads to issues such as frequency and voltage deviations and power oscillations under load disturbances. This paper studies the microgrids composed of grid-forming DG converters with dispatchable virtual oscillators control (dVOC) and introduces an additional proportional derivative (PD) loop to enhance the system's virtual inertia and resistance, then employs consensus algorithms to coordinate information exchange among different DGs, where an event-triggered mechanism is designed to reduce the communication burden among DG converters. Finally, this strategy is validated to realize constant voltage and frequency and power consistency with low communications under disturbances, also providing good steady-state and dynamic system performance.
