Stability Analysis of Distribution System with Active Front-End Converters
The widespread integration of power electronic converters in modern distribution networks has brought forth significant stability challenges, particularly for distribution system incorporating active front-end (AFE) converter. This paper proposes a comprehensive stability analysis based on a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) modeling approach to systematically investigate these stability issues. The developed methodology enables detailed examination of critical stability factors including constant power load (CPL), constant resistance load (CRL), CPL-to-CRL power ratio and total load power. The practical insights for the design and operation of stable AFE converter systems in power-electronic-dominated distribution grids is provided. Finally, the simulation results validate the theoretical predictions
