ATIVIDADES PRÁTICAS PRESENTES NA DISCIPLINA DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA ADAPTADA EM CONTEXTO INTERNACIONAL: UMA REVISÃO DE ESCOPO

This study aimed to identify, through a scoping review, the practical activities implemented in Adapted Physical Education courses within undergraduate programs at both national and international levels, highlighting their characteristics and outcomes. A scoping review was conducted following the PRISMA-ScR methodology, with searches performed in the ERIC, PubMed, SportDiscus, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. Inclusion criteria encompassed studies involving undergraduate Physical Education students, addressing the concept of Practicum applied to work with people with disabilities within curricular courses, published in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, with no date restrictions. The initial search identified 1,674 records, from which 23 full-text studies were selected—all international and published in English—meeting the inclusion criteria. Of these, 20 described service-learning-based activities and three described simulation-based activities, with a predominance of qualitative interventions. The proposals were characterized and presented as references for instructors interested in implementing similar programs. The results indicate that practical activities enhance students’ skills, empathy, understanding of diversity, and confidence in working with people with disabilities, while also highlighting challenges such as lack of training and poorly structured simulations. Only one study included the perspective of people with disabilities, which contrasts with the principle of centering their voices in decisions that affect them. Experiential learning proved to be an effective approach in preparing future professionals by bringing students closer to real-world practice contexts.
