Ultra-High-Speed Linear Induction Motor Design for Low Vacuum Tube Transportation
An ultra-high speed transportation system in the low vacuum tube represents an advanced ground transportation mode with significant potential for the future. It has attracted the interest of numerous research institutions and companies worldwide, and a substantial body of preliminary calculations, designs, and tests has already been conducted. Nevertheless, the driving mode of ultra-high speed transportation in low vacuum tube remain under comparative study, and no driving mode has yet been proven to be the most efficient. In this paper, a long primary linear double side induction motor (LPDLIM) with grid secondary is designed to achieve the maximum speed of 1000km/h. The outcomes of electromagnetic field theory calculations and finite element simulations have substantiated that the linear induction motor is fully capable of fulfilling the design specifications while maintaining an acceptable cost.
