Sensorless Control of PMLSM Based on a Novel Adaptive Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Observer

In this paper, a novel adaptive super-twisting sliding mode observer is designed for sensorless control of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The proposed method uses a new continuous function T(s) instead of the sign function to reduce system chattering. By adjusting the sliding mode gain in real-time with changes in system speed, higher estimation accuracy can be achieved. Simulation results are given to show the advantages of the proposed method.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel adaptive super-twisting sliding mode observer is designed for sensorless control of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The proposed method uses a new continuous function T(s) instead of the sign function to reduce system chattering. By adjusting the sliding mode gain in real-time with changes in system speed, higher estimation accuracy can be achieved. Simulation results are given to show the advantages of the proposed method.
