Visualization Analysis of Big Data in College Student Management: A Citespace-Based Approach
Objective: To examine the current status, research hotspots, and emerging trends in the application of big data to university student management. Methods: Literature on big data applications in university student management was retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database (September 18, 2007 – April 23, 2025) and analyzed using Citespace software. Results: Among the 686 included studies, key research themes centered on talent development, academic advising, educational administration, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Conclusion: Future efforts should prioritize (1) defining digital transformation in university management, (2) enhancing staff digital literacy, (3) strengthening technical infrastructure, (4) safeguarding data privacy and security, and (5) developing actionable big data-driven management frameworks for higher education institutions.
