Techno-Economic Assessment of Ocean Energy Development: A Case in Hong Kong
Under the landscape of climate change, the development and proliferation of renewable energy has become a worldwide trend in recent years. As an emerging type of clean renewable energy, ocean energy enjoys significant potential and advantages. Thus, leveraging ocean energy to generate electricity is a key step towards the carbon peaking and carbon neutralization. This work offers a comprehensive technoeconomic assessment regarding four mainstream ocean energy technologies. Especially, the potential of developing ocean energy in Hong Kong is analyzed in cases studies, serving as a theoretical reference and support for policymakers.
