Distribution Network Reconfiguration Considering Battery Lifetime and Demand-Side Response
With the increasing integration of distributed energy resources into power grids, distribution networks face new challenges and opportunities. This paper proposes a mixedinteger convex programming model for distribution network reconfiguration, incorporating a demand-side response mechanism to reduce network losses and improve energy efficiency. In addition, the model includes a comprehensive battery degradation model that considers the depth of discharge, daily cycles, and ambient temperature to optimize battery usage and reflect performance changes under operational conditions. The study evaluates battery charging and discharging strategies under varying temperatures, comparing scenarios with and without lifetime considerations to refine operational strategies. Simulation results using GUROBI on a modified IEEE 33-bus system demonstrate improvements in network efficiency and equipment lifespan, paving the way for sustainable energy management.
