Optimization Strategy for Power Allocation of Multiple PEM Electrolyzers in Frequency Regulation
To address the issue of declining frequency regulation capability in microgrid systems caused by new energy integration, this paper proposes a power allocation optimization strategy involving multiple PEM electrolyzers for frequency regulation. Firstly, for power allocation strategy validation, PVstorage hydrogen generation system needs to be developed. Then, the grid-connected power fluctuations are determined according to the magnitude of microgrid frequency deviation, thereby achieving primary frequency regulation for the microgrid. Finally, with the objective of maximizing hydrogen production and under energy conversion efficiency constraints, a power allocation strategy for multiple electrolyzers is developed using MATLAB/fmincon. Simulation results demonstrate both the effectiveness of PEM electrolyzers in frequency regulation and the capability of the proposed strategy to reduce hydrogen production costs while enhancing electrolytic hydrogen production efficiency.
