Active Power Control Strategy of Inertia-Flywheel Energy Storage System Based on Particle Swarm Optimization
To address the issues of inertia and frequency regulation brought by the high proportion of renewable energy in modern power systems, a study was conducted on an inertiaflywheel energy storage system based on an electromagnetic coupler. This system is directly connected to the power grid through a synchronous motor, providing direct mechanical inertia support for modern power systems. Additionally, the use of an electromagnetic coupler endows the system with a certain degree of super-inertia support capability. Mathematical modeling was performed on various parts of the inertia-flywheel energy storage system to determine the coupling relationships between them. An active power control strategy for the inertia-flywheel energy storage system based on the particle swarm optimization algorithm was proposed, applying the particle swarm optimization algorithm to parameter optimization in control. The control strategy was validated on the MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform, and the simulation results verified that the active power control strategy of the inertia-flywheel energy storage system has excellent dynamic response capabilities, with fast response speed and almost no overshoot.
