Transient Stability Analysis of DC-Link Voltage Synchronization Control Grid-Forming Converter Considering the Impact of Current Limiter
Traditional transient stability analysis of phase-locked loop (PLL)-based Grid-following converters(GFLC) and power synchronization control based Grid-forming converters (GFMC) is based on the constant DC-link voltage, which is not always avaiable in renewable energy resources. Considering the DC-link voltage dynamics, DC-link voltage synchronization control(DVSC)-based GFMC has important research and application value in the future. In this digest, the transient stability of DVSC-based GFMC is analyzed from the perspective of damping considering the impact of different current limiters. It is revealed that the interaction between current reference angle and internal voltage can provide positive damping while the integrator of DVSC will bring negative damping. Simulation results verifies the transient stability analysis results.
