Thrust Ripple Suppression in Spoke-Type Permanent-Magnet Linear Synchronous Machine with Arc-Shaped Mover Pole
This paper proposes an arc-shaped mover pole design for spoke-type permanent-magnet linear synchronous machines (STPMLSMs) to reduce detent force and thrust ripple. The design addresses the issue of concentrated magnetic flux in the mover core by gradually varying the air-gap length. The effectiveness of the proposed structure was verified through 2-D finite element method (FEM). The detent force and thrust ripple were effectively reduced while maintaining thrust force.
