Synchronous Harmonic Suppression Strategy for MSFW Based on Improved Resonant Controller

Magnetic Suspended Flywheel (MSFW) exhibits exceptional advantages in energy storage systems, characterized by contactless suspension for near-zero mechanical wear, ultrahigh operational efficiency, and extended lifespan. However, manufacturing imperfections, such as rotor mass imbalance and sensor runout, induce prominent synchronous and harmonic vibrations, which degrade control precision and threaten the overall stability. An improved resonant controller (RSC) is proposed in this paper. To solve the low-frequency instability problem of MSFW with the traditional RSC, a lead-lag phase compensation unit is introduced in this paper to ensure the stable operation of MSFW in the full-speed domain. Moreover, a gain coefficient adaptive adjustment scheme is proposed in this paper, where the gain coefficients are adaptively adjusted with the change of rotational speed to realize the synchronous harmonic deep suppression in the full-speed domain of MSFW. Compared with the traditional methods, the proposed scheme can achieve synchronous harmonic deep suppression in the full-speed domain without switching parameters. Sufficient simulations demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed improved RSC for MSFW.
