Study of the Basis for Improving the Charging Characteristics Using LC Resonance in the Vertical Linear Vibration Generator

This paper examines the improvement of charging efficiency in a vertical linear vibration power generator. The device generates power by applying input energy in the form of weight vibration and stores it in an EDLC after rectification via a full-bridge rectifier circuit. However, the generated voltage decreases as the vibration attenuates, resulting in low charging energy. This study utilizes a resonant full-bridge rectifier circuit to improve charging efficiency by connecting a capacitor to the inductive component within the generator, thereby generating LC resonance and increasing the charging voltage. The change in charging energy delivered to the EDLC using the resonant full-bridge rectifier circuit was analyzed. As a result, introducing LC resonance increased the charging energy by 155%, demonstrating that LC resonance improves the charging efficiency of the EDLC.
