Enhanced Deadbeat Predictive Voltage Control for LCL-Filtered Motor Emulator with ESO-Based Parameter Mismatch Adaptation

Electric motor emulator (EME) is increasingly being used in the development and testing of motor drive units (MDU). However, existing EME typically employ L filters, which may lead to current control conflicts and bandwidth limitations. In comparison, the LCL filter, by introducing a capacitor branch, can effectively avoid current control conflicts. However, control algorithms based on LCL-filtered EME often suffer from increased complexity and poor robustness. To address these issues, an enhanced predictive voltage control (DPVC) based on the improved voltage-behind-reactance (VBR) motor model is proposed. Extended state observers (ESO) are respectively designed for both the VBR motor model and the DPVC to estimate and compensate for disturbance errors arising from parameter mismatches. Finally, simulation results verify that proposed method can effectively improve the robustness and emulation accuracy of the EME system.
