Magnetic Integration in BCM Based Single-Phase Transformerless PV Inverters

Boundary conduction mode (BCM) control is widely adopted in single-phase transformerless photovoltaic (PV) inverters to enhance efficiency by enabling soft-switching operation. To suppress leakage currents induced by the parasitic capacitance between PV panels and ground, two split converterside inductors are conventionally employed. This paper investigates the magnetic integration of these inductors in a BCMbased PV inverter. With a shared magnetic core, the proposed design achieves a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{1 2 \%}$</tex> reduction in magnetic component volume and a 23 % decrease in power loss at rated output power. Both comprehensive theoretical analysis and simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
