An Improved Feedforward Control Strategy in Droop-Controlled DC Microgrids for the More Electric Aircraft

With the increasing infiltration of power electronics in the more electric aircraft (MEA) grid, the negative resistance characteristics of constant power loads (CPLs) and pulsed loads pose significant challenges to system stability. As the primary power source in aircraft high-voltage dc (HVDC) grids, the permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) need the small-signal impedance modeling for the system stability analysis. This paper proposes an improved feedforward control strategy for droop-controlled onboard microgrids (MGs), where the output current serves as a compensation term for the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$q$</tex>-axis reference current. Systematic small-signal impedance modeling is established for the control scheme, with stability analysis. The simulation results ultimately demonstrates the validity of the proposed method.
