Halal Certification of Ahmad Dahlan Muhammadiyah Hospital Kediri Towards a Superior and Islamic Hospital
This research aims to assist RSM Ahmad Dahlan in achieving halal certification through a descriptive and participatory mentoring approach. The hospital is a health service institution that must provide high-quality, standardized services to the community. Muhammadiyah Hospital (RSM) Ahmad Dahlan Kediri, as a Muhammadiyah Charitable Enterprise (AUM), is committed to implementing Islamic values through compliance with the Islamic Standard for Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah Hospitals (SIRSMA). However, the hospital faces several challenges in obtaining halal certification, including limited understanding of the Halal Product Guarantee System (SJPH), difficulties in document preparation, and lack of experience with halal audits. The assistance method involved five key stages: observation, education, document preparation, evaluation, and certificate submission. Initial observations identified gaps in knowledge and practices related to halal standards. Training sessions and simulations were conducted to build the competence of medical and non-medical staff in understanding SJPH. Intensive document assistance ensured conformity with halal and thayyib principles, while continuous evaluation prepared the hospital for external audits by BPJPH and fatwa sessions by MUI. The result was the successful issuance of a halal certificate, increased institutional competence, and enhanced public trust in the hospital's services. This study highlights the importance of structured assistance in implementing SJPH in hospitals. It contributes to the development of superior sharia-compliant health services and positions RSM Ahmad Dahlan as a competitive and trusted provider of halal-certified care.
