Optimization of Oxygen Flow in Non-invasive Ventilators in the Plateau Environment

In plateau regions, the significant reduction in atmospheric pressure and oxygen partial pressure poses a profound challenge to human health, particularly for patients with respiratory diseases. Low oxygen availability at high altitudes not only compromises the quality of life of the general population but also exacerbates the clinical management of chronic respiratory conditions. Non-invasive ventilators, as auxiliary respiratory devices, have garnered increasing attention in these unique environments. However, optimizing their oxygen delivery strategy is crucial to ensuring that patients in high-altitude settings receive adequate oxygenation and maintain stable blood oxygen saturation (SpO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">₂</inf>). This study proposes a theoretical model and an optimization strategy tailored to the plateau environment. By integrating atmospheric modeling, patient-specific respiratory demands, and compensation algorithms, we establish a method to dynamically adjust oxygen flow and concentration. Through iterative refinement, the optimized non-invasive ventilation system adapts to variations in altitude, temperature, and humidity, ultimately improving patient oxygenation levels and reducing the risks associated with acute mountain sickness, hypoxemia, and respiratory failure. This research provides theoretical guidance for the clinical application of non-invasive ventilators in plateau regions and lays a solid foundation for future intelligent, data-driven respiratory support technologies.
