Algorithm for Optimizing the Layout of Sensor Networks in the Safety Monitoring of Hydraulic Engineering

With the continuous expansion of the scale of water conservancy projects and the increasing complexity of their operating environment, the importance of safety monitoring is becoming more and more prominent. The optimal layout of the sensor network is a key aspect of achieving accurate and efficient monitoring. This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization-based layout algorithm for the sensor network layout in the safety monitoring of water conservancy projects, which addresses problems such as uneven coverage, data redundancy and resource waste. An optimization model that comprehensively considers monitoring coverage, data transmission efficiency and deployment cost is constructed, and a solution algorithm is designed to accurately optimize the network layout. The algorithm has significant advantages in improving monitoring efficiency, reducing energy consumption and deployment costs. Settlement monitoring, deflection monitoring of concrete panels of dams, displacement monitoring of slopes and deep excavations, landslide monitoring, and convergence monitoring of hydraulic tunnels constructed by shield tunneling methods. This paper verifies the feasibility and practicality of the proposed method through actual engineering cases, providing theoretical support and technical guarantees for the intelligent development of safety monitoring systems for hydraulic engineering.
