Experimental Analysis of the Influence of the Internal Hardware Layout of the Desktop Terminal Chassis on Electromagnetic Interference

As the integration and complexity of electronic equipment continue to increase, electromagnetic interference (EMI) is becoming an increasingly critical factor affecting equipment performance and stability. The internal hardware layout of the desktop terminal chassis has a significant impact on the generation and propagation of electromagnetic interference. A reasonable hardware layout design can effectively reduce interference and improve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the equipment. This paper analyses the impact of the wiring methods of key components such as audio cables and front panel interfaces on EMI based on experimental data under different layout conditions. In particular, detailed tests and comparative analyses are carried out on phenomena such as signal coupling and antenna effects inside the chassis. By comparing the experimental results of different hardware layout schemes, this paper proposes effective measures to optimise chassis design, including reasonable grounding treatment, improved cable shielding and optimised layout of key components. The experimental results show that the optimised layout can significantly reduce the risk of EMI exceeding the standard and improve the EMC performance of the end device.
