Optimization Study on the Flow Passage Cross-Section of Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolysis Tanks
The stream passages in the bipolar plate greatly affect the efficiency of the electrolytic tanks.in an effort to increase behavior and resource utilization of proton exchange membrane electrolysis cells, establish multiple multi-channel PEM electrolysis cells with multiple physical field 3D models based on Comsol software. Perform numerical calculations by comparing three different cross-sectional forms of flow channels and changing cross-sectional shape parameters under the same cross-sectional surface area. The research results found that under the same conditions, the flow field structure with different cross-sectional shapes has lowest potential point. The lowest potential point of flow field with rectangular cross-section is the smallest, which is 1.9281V. And the difference between the highest and lowest points is the largest, which is 0.0376V. When the flow field with rectangular cross-section is taken at different channel heights, the influence at the entrance and export pressure and velocity of cathode is also greatest.
