Photocatalytic Deaminative Fluorination—Balancing Conflicting Chemical Properties
Abstract The transformation of amines into alkyl fluorides is an important but highly underdeveloped process that would be useful for the synthesis of biologically active compounds. In this article, we describe the path to the development of deaminative fluorination under photocatalytic conditions. Through optimization studies, focusing on mechanistic complexities, we were able to determine crucial parameters influencing this reaction course.
