Abstract

This article exposes the fundamental ideas of pragmatic ethics from a Rorty interpretation. The main objective is directed at the analysis of application today, where the problem evidenced is related to theory and practice to achieve an objective, scilicet, an intervention of the pragmatism form Rorty in the evaluation of any concept. Research that has been important due to its profound intervention with society, since it starts from a ‘normative practice’ based on principles, ideals, and moral norms. The research is based on analytic-synthetic methodological writing that has allowed the decomposition of categories for individual analysis; and the hermeneutical methodological use that accesses the understanding of characteristics e incidents into bibliographic research. This through a structure composed of four parts: the first part is a theoretical approach to ethics and its classes, this referred to some relevant inflection points; the second part deals with ethics in the history of philosophy, a process that has been traversed from the traditional to the contemporary; the third part relates to the foundations, approaches, and limitations of pragmatic ethics of Richard Rorty (1931-2007); and the fourth part ends with the presence of pragmatic ethics actual society, which is characterized by being that tool that leads to insolating morally relevant features.
