Inclusive Learning: Difference Between Pre- and Post-Pandemic English Proficiency Test Results
The educational predicament surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic compelled the adaptation to a "new normal" and redefined the approach to teaching and learning. Students were forced to adapt to learn technical and linguistic skills online. Moving forward, it is vital to investigate what can be learned from the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic data. For this study, the pre-pandemic (blended classes) and post-pandemic (online classes) English proficiency test results of college students in MMCL were investigated. The quantitative method was used to collect and analyze data, particularly descriptive statistics and the Mann-Whitney U-test. The results show that there is a significant difference between the pre- and post-pandemic English speaking and writing proficiency test results. Moreover, statistical results are consistent in all the criteria for the English speaking and writing tests.
