Doubly driven cavity flow of Casson fluid under magnetic field in a staggered domain
Shear forces can significantly impact the multiphysics, which is governed by several interacting forces. In this study, a novel stabilized finite element scheme is proposed to efficiently analyze the shear effect on double diffusive mixed convective Casson fluid flow in a staggered domain. In the scheme, the fine-scale effects are transferred to the coarse-scale problem following an algebraic subgrid analysis, and then the modified coarse-scale equations are computed. The key stabilization parameters are derived following the Fourier analysis. Also, the effect of like and unlike shear forces on Casson fluid is studied with the magnetic field kept at different inclination angles. The influence of flow, heat, and mass transfer parameters such as Casson parameter (β), magnetic field parameter (Ha), Richardson Number (Ri), Lewis Number (Le), Reynolds Number (Re), and buoyancy ratio (Br) is analyzed through the streamlines and iso-concentrations, isotherms, and the local heat fluxes. The multi-cellular impinging flow pattern is noticed, which is sensitive to the orientation of surface shear forces. It is found that with increasing Re, Br, and Ri, both heat and mass fluxes increase. However, with increasing Le, while the local mass fluxes increase, the local heat fluxes remain largely unaffected. In all these cases, unlike shear forces are found to be relatively more favorable to a boost in local fluxes compared to like ones. The increasing magnetic forces lead to a decrease in local heat and mass fluxes. As the fluid properties tend toward Newtonian behavior, the like shear forces favor the local heat and mass fluxes, unlike shear forces, which hinder the same.
