Macroscale Superlubricity with a High Load‐Carrying Capacity Enabled by Nitrogen‐Doped Graphene Quantum Dots in Lubricated Silicon‐Doped Amorphous Carbon Films
Macroscale Superlubricity Superlubricity—a state characterized by near-zero friction—offers significant potential for energy savings and carbon neutrality. In article number 2400671, Mitjan Kalin and co-workers report robust macroscale superlubricity using nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (NGQDs) as nano-additives in aqueous lubricant. NGQDs enable enhanced load-bearing capacity through surface adsorption and tribocatalytic formation of a FeNxCy-based film, positioning them as a promising candidate for efficient and durable nanolubrication.
