Metamaterial Inspired Low Profile Antenna For Satellite Communication
Compact and efficient antenna technologies are needed for advancements in satellite communication to improve performance while maintaining the low profile of the antenna. Ku-band microstrip patch antennas incorporated with metamaterial and complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) are discussed in this research. This research identifies significant gains and bandwidth enhancement through the investigation of 15 recent experiments. These antennas employ Metamaterials (CSRR) for optimal efficiency in operation at the Ku-band (12-18 GHz). The results indicate that CSRRs are viable for satellite use since they can maintain the compact size while enhancing the antenna radiation properties.
