Design Requirements for AI-Enabled Progressive Web Applications to Decrease Risk of Breast Cancer

Tracking women's health from an early age is vital for the prevention and early discovery of breast, ovarian and cervical cancer. While several applications allow users to monitor various health factors or join support communities, a comprehensive solution that holistically tracks health with the aim of decreasing the risk of breast cancer remains unknown. To bridge this gap, through an online survey of 117 participants, we analyzed current lifestyle practices, perceptions of existing apps, and information needs related to breast cancer to identify design requirements for an AI-enabled mobile health application. Users wanted systems that: (1) remember their input and personalize their output (2) integrate with existing devices or can track multiple factors on a single platform, and (3) provide education on women's health and breast cancer. This study identified a set of 23 design requirements and aims to foster innovative approaches for preventative healthcare, heighten awareness of breast cancer risk factors, and validate the need for preventative tools in women's health.
