Ensuring Trust and Security in AI-Powered Chatbots: A Framework for Standardization
AI-powered chatbots have become ubiquitous in industries like healthcare, finance, and customer service, but their adoption raises critical concerns about trust, security, and ethical use. This paper presents a comprehensive framework for standardizing trust and security in AI chatbots, integrating insights from technical, psychological, cultural, and philosophical domains. The framework addresses key challenges such as data privacy vulnerabilities, robustness against adversarial attacks, and ethical considerations. It incorporates advanced privacy-enhancing technologies like homomorphic encryption and federated learning, as well as robustness measures against data poisoning and prompt injection attacks. By bridging these areas, the framework provides actionable guidelines for developers, regulators, and users to standardize on the safe deployment of chatbot technologies while fostering user confidence. This unified approach addresses the privacy paradox, emotional drivers of trust, and epistemic limitations of chatbots, offering a holistic solution for enhancing trust and security in AI chatbot interactions.
