Neoliberalismo e neofascismo no tempo presente: notas sobre a tal crise da democracia contemporânea
Contrary to what mainstream liberal interpretations claim, the contemporary “crisis of democracy” is, in our view, the expression of a crisis of bourgeois hegemony, that is, a crisis of bourgeois domination. It is, therefore, the increasing difficulty of the ruling class in preserving, at least in the way it did until the 2008 crisis, the armored democratic regime as the optimal and stable form corresponding to an increasingly total, predatory and destructive capitalist accumulation of the socio-environmental conditions of its own reproduction, and which, therefore, has less and less capacity to produce consensus, to the extent that its concrete substrate, the concessions to the popular masses, is increasingly scarce.
