Linear growth of calves when fed the “Intermix calf” PVMS

Currently, to realize the high genetic potential of animals, various feed additives with a wide spectrum of action are used all over the world, which differ in origin, set of biologically active components and production technology. Their introduction into animal diets contributes to an increase in the level of transformation of feed nutrients into products and creates favorable conditions for the maximum manifestation of the potential of their productivity by animals. From the literature review, it can be reasonably stated that the new version of the PVMS “Intermix calf” is considered a complete concentrate for preparing a mixture for calves on your farm, which can be used from the very beginning of their cultivation. The product contains a two-component grain base (barley and wheat) and contains all the necessary ingredients for the intensive growth and development of young animals. It is used in an amount of 30 % of the grain part of the diet. However, the use of this additive in feeding calves requires scientific substantiation. The article conducts a study on the study of productivity and linear growth indicators of cattle calves when feeding the new PVMS “Intermix calf”. The use of the “Intermix Calf” PVMS in the calves’ diet provides 715 g of average daily gain, which is 11.7 % more than in the control. The use of the “Intermix Calf” PVMS in the calves’ diet during the post-weaning period of growth contributes to an increase in average daily gains by 68 g, or 9.06 %, with their level of 728 g in the control and 794 g in the experimental groups. Feeding calves at the age of 5–6 months with the “Intermix Calf” PVMS causes a tendency to increase average daily gains. According to the results of the work, it was found that the use of BVMS “Intermix calf” in the feeding of calves in the amount of 30 % to the grain part of the diet for the first two months of life allows achieving a live weight of animals of 90.7 kg, which is 4.2 kg more than the control indicator.
