Trichofolliculoma in a Family – An Unusual Occurrence
Trichofolliculoma is a hair follicle hamartoma occurring in the head and region as a single lesion. Multiple trichofolliculoma is a rare manifestation and very few cases were reported in journals. Familial trichofolliculomas have onset in childhood and clinically present as multiple small papular lesions. Histopathologically trichofolliculoma shows large keratin containing cystic cavity lined by follicular keratinocytes with multiple radiating secondary hair follicles. We report three cases of multiple trichofolliculomas in family members as a rare occurrence.
