Mapping Cognitive Impairment in Adolescents a Bibliometric Exploration of Trends and Insights
This study explores cognitive impairment in adolescents through a bibliometric analysis, aiming to identify trends, influential researchers, and key concepts in the field. Adolescence is a critical developmental stage where cognitive abilities such as memory and decision-making are significantly impacted. The research emphasizes that cognitive impairments significantly affect adolescents' social, academic, and emotional development. Utilizing a quantitative bibliometric approach, we analyzed 2,438 documents from the Scopus database to uncover patterns in research output and collaboration among authors and institutions. The findings reveal an increasing trend in publications related to cognitive impairment since 1968, highlighting the USA, China, and the UK as leading contributors. This research provides insights into the mechanisms of cognitive impairment and emphasizes the need for continued investigation into effective interventions. The results underscore the necessity for further interdisciplinary research to address the implications of cognitive impairment on adolescents, ultimately guiding future studies in this vital area of mental health.
