GESTÃO DE MATERIAIS DE CONSUMO NA SECRETARIA DE SAÚDE: UM ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE A ARMAZENAGEM E A DISTRIBUIÇÃO DOS RECURSOS NA SECRETARIA DE SAÚDE DE MAUÉS PARA AS UBS.
The research paper, titled “Management of Consumable Materials in the Health Department: A Case Study on the Storage and Distribution of Resources in the Maués Health Department for UBS.” The general objective of the research was to analyze the structure of storage and distribution of consumable materials in the Health Department of the municipality of Maués. Specifically, it aimed to examine the perceptions of professionals involved in material management, identify challenges and opportunities for improvement, and develop recommendations to optimize this management. The methodology employed was applied in nature, with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) and an exploratory character. Data collection included bibliographic research and the application of a 10-question closed-ended questionnaire to 6 employees in the stock control area of the Maués Health Department. The study focused on the financial sector of the Municipal Health Department of Maués (AM). The research revealed that the Maués Health Department has a formalized structure for stock control, with 100% of respondents confirming the existence of a dedicated team. However, the study also identified challenges and areas for development. Most professionals have less than one year of experience, suggesting the need for continuous integration and training programs. The optimization of physical space and warehouse organization was pointed out as the factor that would bring the greatest improvement in stock control. The Health Department demonstrates a proactive approach, with most respondents indicating the existence of a continuous improvement plan or that it is under development. In summary, the work concludes that, despite solid and organized stock management, the optimization of the warehouse’s physical infrastructure is crucial for further advancements. Continued investment in training, technological improvement, and and enhanced inter-sectoral communication is recommended to consolidate more efficient material management for the benefit of local public health.
