The Protection of Environmental Refugees in International Human Rights Law
This study aims to shed light on the adequacy of international human rights law rules in protecting the rights of environmental refugees, especially in light of the absence of a specific legal framework for them and their exclusion from the protection provided by refugee-specific conventions.Although environmental refugees enjoy all the human rights stipulated in various international human rights conventions, whether global or regional, regardless of their status, their rights still require further protection and enhancement. This can be achieved by establishing a legal framework that organizes and protects their rights, in addition to activating international cooperation mechanisms to assist them.
