A FRACTAL PERMEABILITY MODEL FOR THE DISK-SHAPED BIFURCATION NETWORK WITH TORTUOSITY EFFECT CONSIDERING THE INFLUENCE OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS

Bifurcation network structure can be seen everywhere in the nature world, and at the same time in human daily life. At present, more and more scholars pay attention to the research studies on the permeability of bifurcation network. However, the majority of these studies are conducted under ideal conditions and overlook the influences of certain factors. In this study, based on the fractal theory, the permeability model of fluid seepage in disk-shaped bifurcation network with tortuosity effect considering the influence of surface roughness is established. The effects of curvature, roughness, diameter ratio and length ratio on permeability are discussed in detail. The results indicate that the curvature and roughness have important influences on the transport characteristics of the network, and a small change in diameter ratio and length ratio can cause a significant variation in effective permeability. Comparing the disk-shaped bifurcation network with conventional parallel network shows that the disk-shaped bifurcation network has a stronger fluid transport ability. This established model can be used to analyze the fluid seepage in disk-shaped bifurcation network with tortuosity effect considering the influence of surface roughness.
