New combination and typification of an endemic species of <i>Anemonastrum</i> (Ranunculaceae), based on morphological and molecular evidence (<scp>nrDNA</scp> and <scp>cpDNA</scp>)
Abstract Molecular phylogenetic analysis of Indian species of Anemone s.l. using loci from the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), and the plastid (cpDNA) intergenic spacer regions matK , psbA‐trnH and rbcL , reveals placement of Anemone raui , an endemic species, within the Anemonastrum clade. These results are corroborated by morphological evidence. We accordingly provide the new combination Anemonastrum raui . During herbarium studies and literature survey, it was found that the holotype is missing, and a lectotype is designated from among the two paratype collections.
