Clinical diagnosis, treatment, and survival analysis of 61 cases of salivary duct carcinoma: a retrospective study
SDC is a rare and highly aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Surgical margins, American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) stage, and treatment method were identified as adverse prognostic factors affecting the OS of patients with SDC. Radical surgery remains the primary treatment for salivary duct carcinoma while adjuvant therapy significantly reduces recurrence rates and improves survival. However, the overall prognosis remains challenging, highlighting the need for novel therapeutic strategies.
