THE DEPICTION OF NEGATIVE CHARACTERS IN THE EPIC "MANAS" (BASED ON THE EPISODE WITH KÖZKAMAN)
This article explores the themes of envy towards the hero’s achievements, power, fame, wealth, and possessions, as well as the destruction of unity and cohesion within the community. It addresses the betrayal of one’s homeland, native land, and kin, driven by personal interests. Negative characters, siding with enemies for personal gain, commit treachery and even attempt to eliminate the hero, stopping at nothing. Special attention is given to characters like Kökchököz and Közkamandar, who are regarded as some of the most dangerous internal enemies. Their betrayal for the sake of power, wealth, and self-interest is depicted as the most heinous and repulsive crime.
