TOURISM IN EUROPEAN REGIONS WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF UKRAINE: TRENDS AND STRATEGIC VECTORS OF DEVELOPMENT

Objective. The objective of the article is to analyse current trends and identify the main strategic vectors of tourism development in the European regions with the participation of Ukraine. Methods. The results of the study are obtained applying: the method of analysis (to determine the peculiarities of tourism development in the Euroregions with the participation of Ukraine), the statistical method (to process statistical information), the abstract and logical method (to identify the main problems and strategic vectors of tourism development in the Euroregions with the participation of Ukraine). Results. The study analyses current trends in the development of tourism in the Euroregions with the participation of Ukraine. The main differences between the formation of Euroregional structures in the EU and post-communist countries are identified. The specifics of tourism activities in the Euroregions, positive and negative experience of implementing tourism development programmes are studied. The author identifies a number of problems that create obstacles to the successful functioning of the Ukrainian side within the framework of Euroregions. The volumes of passage operations, the structure of outbound and inbound tourist flows are studied. The analysis shows that due to military and political reasons, in particular the full-scale invasion of Russia, such Euroregions with the participation of Russia and Belarus as the “Yaroslavna”, “Donbas”, “Slobozhanshchyna”, “Dnipro” have finally ceased to function. The Euroregions “Dniester”, “Lower Danube”, “Upper Prut”, “Buh”, and “Black Sea”, in which Ukraine is an observer, are in a state of stagnation. The development of tourism cooperation between the participating countries is currently observed only in the Carpathian Euroregion. Based on the results of the study, the main strategic vectors of development of Euroregions in the field of tourism and measures to further intensify tourism activities in Euroregions at the national, regional and local levels are identified.
