Assessment of the seismic-blast effects on the marginal rock mass due to the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the blast
Drilling and blasting in open pit mining operations is the primary method of preparing rocks for extraction. Despite the fact that this method is widespread in the mining industry, it has a negative impact on the rock mass and the environment. One of these negative impacts is seismic blast wave propagation in the marginal rock mass. In addition, federal norms and regulations do not take into account the seismic-explosive impact on the marginal rock mass. The paper presents the results of research on calculation of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the seismic-blast wave with the subsequent construction of the dependence of the carrier frequency of the seismic-blast wave on the reduced distance. The main frequencies at which the frequency resonance occurs were calculated, i.e. 17–18 and 30–31 Hz. It has been found that the frequency resonances occur not only in the near zone of the blast, but also in the far zone, thereby reducing the strength of the marginal rock mass. Thus, calculating the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the seismic blast wave, it is possible to identify the places of frequency resonance origin. The results of research can be useful for design, research and production organizations of the mineral and raw materials complex, engaged in calculations of the drilling and blasting operations.
