Antimicrobial Activity of Aqueous and Ethanolic Extracts Of Garlic against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Proteus Vulgaris
The objective of this paper was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of garlic (Allium Sativum) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus vulgaris using appropriate standard procedures. Results obtained show that the ethanolic extract produced larger inhibition zones, indicating its higher efficacy in suppressing the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus vulgaris. The findings suggest that garlic ethanolic extract is more effective in inhibiting the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus vulgaris highlighting its potential as a more potent antimicrobial agent compared to the aqueous extract.
