Hybrid Excitation Variable Flux Memory Motor for Enhancing Output Power and Efficiency During WLTC Driving Cycle in Traction Applications
This article presents a useful hybrid-excitation variable flux memory machine (HE-VFMM) that incorporates a variable flux memory machine (VFMM) into a hybrid excitation machine (HEM) for automotive applications. The proposed HE-VFMM can resolve the issues of conventional HEM and VFMM, resulting in high performance in WLTC driving cycle. This paper finally shows that the HE-VFMM realizes 32.5% higher output power than a commercially supplied IPMSM.
