Consideration of a Conductor Configuration of a High-speed SRM for Automobile Tractions to Reduce Its AC Copper Loss
Although higher motor speeds result in downsizing, there are concerns about the potential degradation of torque and efficiency due to a rapid increase in frequency-dependent AC copper loss. The conventional conductor configuration results in significant copper loss, which can be attributed to the presence of circulating current. This paper proposes a novel conductor configuration that can effectively counteract the circulating current. The results demonstrate that the circulating current can be entirely eliminated through the implementation of the proposed configuration.
