Pd@POPs-catalyzed carbonylative transformations of aryl bromides: Efficient synthesis of esters, amides, and topramezone
In this study, we thoroughly investigated the performance of Pd@POPs in the heterogeneous catalytic carbonylation of aryl bromides. A variety of phenols and amines could be efficiently converted into the corresponding ester and amide products with good to excellent yields. This catalytic system was successfully applied in the synthesis of the agrochemical molecule topramezone, achieving an outstanding yield. Pd@POPs as a heterogeneous catalyst was studied in the carbonylation of aryl bromides. Phenols and amines were efficiently converted into the corresponding ester and amide products. • A study on using Pd@POPs in the catalytic carbonylation of aryl bromides. • Phenols and amines can be used as nucleophiles to give ester and amide products with good to excellent yields. • Agrochemical molecule topramezone can be produced in 86% yield. • The recyclability tests of this catalyst were conducted and the catalyst can be reused up to three reaction cycles.
