Lateral Rotor Vibrations in Six-Phase Induction Machine Drives
This paper deals with lateral rotor vibrations in symmetrical dual-three-phase induction machines, focusing on modeling the interactions between rotordynamics and electro-magnetics. A nonlinear dynamic system model is developed and the electromagnetics and the rotordynamics are separately parametrized using finite-element analysis. Time-domain simulation results are presented for a 125-kW dual-three-phase induction machine, designed to exhibit rotordynamic characteristics similar to multimegawatt machines. The presented model can be used to develop active rotor vibration control.
